Fed up with feeling powerless and being pushed around by a government who have lost touch with its people and real life. I am a public servant and while I don't earn mega bucks would not mind taking a pay cut if the fat cats were treated the same. But we'd rather bail out rotten bank and give the boys their golden handshakes. What about the filthy rich and judiciary? How come they are exempt? The levys are inequitable. It was just more difficult to spot when the good times were rolling (you know, when all we had to worry about was prices, traffic and how generous Bertie's friends were).

But Peter is right. It is common knowledge that joining your local cumann is a way of getting business or a handy job in the bank. And, by towing the party line and denying that the current situation is the government's fault was infuriating. I'm not saying we all don't have our part to play, but the government is elected to lead. Those in charge are ultimately responsible.

As for Fianna Fail getting trounced at the polls. I've a very real fear that this wont happen. There's still a culture in this country of voting the way your father voted. It's bloody idiotic way to exorcise democracy and the Civil War politics must be consigned to history. We're fucked. And nothing short of a random bomb falling on the Dail and wiping out the entire government is going to save us.Peter Slatteryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12152523189552780664noreply@blogger.com
