Politics.ie weather report

A sudden downpour of technical glitches on www.politics.ie has caused widespread panic among underemployed Dail staffers, student politicians and disillusioned party hacks throughout the nation.

They are now believed to be flooding niche bulletin boards and refugee stations have been set up on boards.ie for the worst afflicted.

Reports suggest that initial fears of a legal tsunami were misplaced. Rather, the current crisis appears to be the result of a high-pressure software upgrade clashing with p.ie owner David Cochrane's busy schedule.

Meteorologists predict that the site should be back up by the weekend.

Political junkies are urged to find shelter offline, and seek comfort in bound copies of old Oireachtas debates.

Hi JC.

Was the bad weather forewarned on P.ie ? That's as long an outage as I've ever seen.

Anyway, reading skinflicks is as good a place as any to take cover for a few days. Good stuff.

No one foresaw the severity of this perfect storm. The p.ie authorities are thought to be riding it out until the weekend before the process of rebuilding begins.
Cheers for the kind words.

pity the boards.ie mods are being pricks about it.

They've ever been such. Which is why I never go there.

yeah thats what they want you to belive. the sight was upgraded a few weeks ago, its been attacked by YFG, garda intelligence. a big huge grassy knoll in all this.

Anonymous said...

Why would YFG attack it?

Anon 3, you'd best ask Anon 2 that. It's a conspiracy theory abounding on another bulletin board.
It's also complete nonsense. But I suppose nothing will stop the wingnuts in their ongoing quest for kerrazzee explanations to simple events.

Daves ego messed p.ie up big time.

Now I know how an asylum seeker feels.

EvotingMachine and Auditor#9 have found temporary refuge at silverpond.eu/refuge. If you are cyber homeless, why not pop in for a cup of tea. When P.ie comes back, we can all go home.

I have no further info, I'm afraid. The last time I spoke to Dave, he said it was a tech problem that he didn't have the time (what with the Lisbon things going on) or the ability (what with Andrew no longer on the team) to address immediately.
That was before the weekend.
He did swear blind that the site wasn't down as the result of a libel suit though.
But that doesn't rule out a thorough hacking, I suppose.
