Ronins in Limerick
In medieval Japan, when a Samurai's master died, he became a Ronin, a masterless swordsman for hire who roamed the land looking for bloody, gory employ as a mercenary.
Clearly Ronins are no longer a thing of the past in Limerick, where two such Samurais have been arrested by Gardai after hospitalising two other fellas with four foot long Samurai swords in a house last night.
And they wonder why people refer to the place as Stab City?

Yes...because that's a representative snapshot of life in Limerick City for most of its residents…
Give me a fucking break. Pick an extreme example and you can prove almost any thesis.
Lazy, boring stuff.
It sisn't happen in Limerick City. It happened in Castleconnell among a crowd of pikeys.
Are we back to the Twenty bullshit?
Before you lads start getting all defensive bear in mind two things.
Firstly, I'm not having a go since literally thousands were murdered in my home town in the past 30 years, and secondly it's surely understood by both of you that someone walking into a house and having a go with samurai swords is not fucking normal anywhere.
Absolutely. Of course it's not normal to be wandering around with a sword.
However, you're overlooking the point that this happened in a rural village, not in Limerick City and therefore the Stab City reference seems a bit gratuitous.
I accept that this event occured some 6 miles from Limerick city.
That's still pretty close.
And my point isn't about walking around with swords. That in itself is unusual. I'm talking about choosing to go out with two samurai swords with the intention of busting into someone's house and trying to kill them.
Now, as I said, the only other place I can think of where that occured is medieval Japan.
Lets just say, that walking around with a sword and attacking people is not the norm at the moment....but give it time!!
Ah generally you slash or slice rather than stab with a samurai sword...
